It constructed during the mid– to late–70s on land that were previously uncultivated fields and allotments (some of which still remain). The Willow Tree pub was constructed at the same time. The roads are named after famous abbeys and are laid out in a manner that precludes fast driving. The majority of homes were constructed for private purchase, however there are a smaller number constructed for social housing . A mix of three, four and five-bedroom homes on the private‐owned estate are townhouse , semi-detached , link detached, and detached configurations, with a small number of bungalows that are sought after. Bisham Drive, Dale Close, Newstead Drive, Mountsorrel Drive, Fountains Close, Waltham Close, and Nearsby Drive form the larger housing areas with the houses arranged in cul-de-sacs . The two through-roads on the estate are Rufford Way and Buckfast Way. Below you will see original plans for each of the styles of houses built on the estate Tewkesbury Close, Hexham Close, Bolton Close, and Furness Close, and includes some warden-aided accommodation for the elderly are to be found near what was the old Council Depot site and a community Centre sits along side these dwellings .

It's always great to see people coming together enjoying the stalls and activities. no matter what age. A massive thank you to all on the committee and everyone else who helped organise the event, but our very special thanks go to Nell, Aiya & Emie! As thunderstorms were forecast we started a little earlier than planned . Thankfully the brief rain we had didn't stop to much of the fun. We hope you all enjoyed the afternoon!
